When who got to voteIn the early 1900s, many people did not have the right to vote in Canada, including women. Also First Nations and Inuit people, and people of Chinese, Japanese and South Asian origin.Women of European origin gained the right to vote before women of non-European origin.People of non-European decent , both men and women, gained the right to vote latter in the twentieth century.
Inuit people could not vote until 1953. Many First Nations people could not vote until 1960. |
